Through The Rearview Mirror

Looking back through your rearview mirror, just what do you see? Is it filled with the beauty of a beautiful day, or garbage from the past? Does the trash you remember fill your heart, or do you see a garden full of good memories?

Thinking about yesterday may bring back regrets and sorrows or thoughts of great times with friends and blessings you have received. Nothing can change what has happened in the past, no amount of dwelling will make it turn out differently. Toss out the bad, remember the good, and go on. Remember, today is what matters!

Starting today, strive to look forward. Quit looking back, and make this day count! Every small thing in your day affects you, from the concern for a friend or a feeling of discontent you may have about something in your mind and heart. How we look at life changes how we live. See the goodness and the blessings and be lifted. Share that with someone else and be doubly blessed! Then tomorrow, when you look through that rearview mirror, you will see the beauty of a wonderful day!

Live long, laugh often, and of course, love always!

Do You Love Your Life?

A friend of mine posts on her Facebook frequently, these words, "Loving my life!" I am just thinking about these words, and wondering how much we really do love and appreciate the live we have. I am so blessed to have family and friends on Facebook! I wake up in the morning and get to say good morning to my people and communicate with them off and on during the day. I have the opportunity to say, "Happy Birthday" to those who have a birthday, lifting them up! I see my family and friends who are in need of prayer, and can pray for them!

I love my life! God has blessed me with an abundance of family and friends. He allows me to live in a peaceful place, surrounded by the things I love. My husband is my best friend, and Hope is our constant companion! I have so many people who love and inspire me. Soon I will be spending time with three of my nieces, and two of my great nieces. My grandson Justin is coming to visit us soon. I am so looking forward to these times!

I even got to wrap my arms around my children, their spouses, and four of my grandchildren this weekend. It was brief, but under the circumstances, understandable! God has been good to me through my life, and I hope and pray I do everything possible to show my people that I love them more than life, itself!

God is good to us! Life is so short. Hug your loved ones and tell them how much you love them! Tell God, too! Then go and have a blessed day!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches

I know this may sound crazy, but one of the most profound teachings I have learned is to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Out there in this world of heartache and sorrow, there are people close to you that need that uplifting. It could be your next door neighbor, or maybe a family member. When you are feeling down, lift someone else up!

We sometimes feel there is nothing we can do to make our own day better, much less another's, but there is! It could be as simple as making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and taking it next door to an elderly neighbor. Make a phone call to ask how a friend is doing. Instead of dwelling on the little things in your own life, reach out to someone who needs cheering up or needs a hand.

When we focus on others and forget our problems, we have served God. By doing this, we spread kindness and joy. Today and everyday, ask God what you can do for someone else, not what He can do for you. When He brings someone to your mind, take a few minutes out of your day, and do something!

Make a phone call of concern, add more to the dinner you are preparing and share it with a family in need! Run an errand for someone, or just go knock on an elderly neighbors door with veggies from your garden. The list is endless, and you will have brightened the day of someone who otherwise may have been lonely and downhearted. Your heart will be lifted, too!

What can we do for someone else? Share your thoughts with us on what you do... then let's go make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!

Thank You For Praying!

The outpouring of prayer has been mind boggling! I can't express in words how much each prayer means to our family. Although I will try. The blessings are there when prayer is. I am blessed to have such a large network of praying people as my friends. When I think about where that network leads, I feel Christ!

Alexa is with Him in Heaven! She was a sweetheart and the apple of her parents' eyes. Rest in peace, you beautiful little angel! We were blessed to have you for a little while!

If you haven't read the poem I posted earlier, please visit my page and do so. It probably will be read at the funeral.

Thank you again for the earnest prayers, your concern, and your friendship. You have blessed us tremendously! God bless your hearts, too!

What a wonderful support group you are! I would love for you all to follow my blog and participate!

Comforting Words

My heart is sad this morning because of the tragedy that struck our family. As I read the comments on Facebook, I felt peace surround me.

The prayers going forth for the whole family means so much to us all. For those who know us well, you know we are a very large, close-knit group. So when a crisis occurs, there are many hearts affected. Your prayers are what will get us through, and we need them badly!

Alexa will never be forgotten, and God has her in His hands. She will always be in our hearts! One day we will see her beautiful smiling face again.

In a instant, lives change. Yesterday ours did.  Please remember that every prayer sent up is a comfort to those in pain. I am so thankful for all of you who have so unselfishly prayed on our family's behalf. I have wonderful friends and family. Thank you for your part in my life.

God bless and keep you all!

Love and prayers, Evie

Who knew?

Sometimes you wake up in the morning and your day is glorious, but by the end of the day your life is in a shamble. In an instant people's lives change. When you can't understand and there are no answers, still know He cares! Hearts broken, dreams shattered, lives altered.

Words do not come easy at times like these. Tears do! We can't understand the reason, we can't even grasp reality. But we do have to live on, from the next second until the next minute, and on and on. And we do have to get control; the sooner, the better for we can not heal when we are grieving!

That being said, people do grieve, do cry, and at times coming so forceful that we can't even breath. That is when you need to remember, God is in control. He has a plan for it all.

No, we can't understand some things in life that happens to us. We are not in control, so when that time comes in your life, lean on your friends and family!

Draw close to them and embrace the love that God is sending to you! Your friends and family are there for you, we are strong through Him!

Life is short ~ Tell your loved ones you love them!
I'm telling you all now! God bless you!

Good Night, Good Sleep! I Am Alive!

Good morning everybody! I slept well, hope you all did! No more fireworks waking me as soon as I went to sleep! The lake is quiet again... well, sort of!

The birds are singing and God is everywhere! I so pray we will get more rain or my tomatoes won't keep producing! Nor will anyone else's food crop grow!

I was thinking about life and I have a question. Are we judging when we declare someone guilty of something when we don't have proof  they are? Just asking! What do you think? Is that what the scripture means, or am I off base here? I am just saying, God forgives people, leave it to Him! If He didn't we would all be doomed! Please give me some feedback!

Have a great day, I have to get to work. Love you all! ~
